I am really excited to share another quilt on this blog! When I saw the Hometown by Sweetwater for Moda line, I immediately fell in love with the prints as well as the colors. There are a few Wisconsin towns that made it into the print, which is fun to see.
I followed the Carolina Patchworks Sweet Garden pattern for this quilt and it was nice to have a layout that I just copied instead of constantly measuring and figuring as I go like I usually do! The pattern required the use of a charm pack, but I found a great deal on a set of larger scraps on etsy and snagged that. It actually worked out well because the way the pattern is written, all your smallest pieces are in the same fabrics and I like to vary my fabric more than that, so it was nice to have bits of this and that to play around with. As I was working on this quilt, I came across this pattern which is really similar and free, but I enjoyed my Carolina Patchwork pattern, so no big deal.
The back I designed and I love this part…
Good thing I have enough scraps left to make up a little quilt of these tiny squares!
Special thanks to my photog assistant (can you spot his “boat shoes”?),
Kara
P.S. I have had my eye on this fabric collection by Lotta Jansdotter since seeking peeks of it here and have been saving a birthday giftcard to purchase it.
I was so excited to see that it had arrived the other day, only to come home to sold out fabrics and bundles! Sad, but I don’t have too much crafting time lately, so maybe it’s a good thing:)

Love the quilt! I don’t know where you find the time! Love you!
This is the best quilt yet (maybe because it was for us). Always super thoughtful with your gifts. Thanks so very much.
